Seattle attorney Steve Pruzan feels a deep responsibility to keep the story of his grandparents’ escape to the United States alive. Steve’s grandparents, Max and Helene Schlonau, owned a large farm in Warmsen, Germany for many generations, which served as a gathering place for nearby family. In 1938, they fled Germany for the United States. Their grandson, Steve Pruzan, will share their story of escape, discrimination, tenacity and, eventually, rebuilding.
