Long Island Sierra Club: Documentary: Shade Grown Coffee

This program will be held in person and via Zoom. 

Your coffee choices can help protect habitat for birds in coffee growing countries around the world. The film will show how growing trees on coffee plantations helps not only birds but farmers too by controlling pests with more birds and reducing erosion during heavy downpours. Farmers also benefit from ‘hidden yields’ from sales of ecotourism, firewood, fruit, building materials, and medicinal plants.
